Carole Radziwill ROCK PRINCESS

My style icon right at the moment is Carole Radziwell from the Real Housewives of New York.  At 48, she is so incredibly SLAMMIN'.....all you have to start at is her hair!!  How oh how to get the perfect ombre/hipster/hippie/effortlessly-perfect looking HAIR!  Her ballerina-thin body doesn't hurt either....she is truely a Rock 'n Roll Princess, with the greatest style on tv at the moment!!

Style stapes of Carole are totally showcased here: LEATHER JACKET LEATHER JACKET LEATHER JACKET...looks like she stayed up all night partying with the band and stole one of their perfectly worn in jackets for the cab ride home...

worn in, faded denim

suede booties

ear-phones- GAWD she's so hip!!

Carole, you are so New York...somehow I don't think she curled her hair that way, I think it just magically appears on her head!

Love this...you can see the envy of the ladies as they were so prepped to tease her for putting on such a ghastly feather cape, until it rested upon Caroles model chic shoulders and look too cool for skool.  Her outfit on this day consisted of an orange knit skully (I think my dad had one?) a mini skirt, and THIGH HIGHS (Carole only you...) Not seen in this pic is her jacket, seen below:
Fingerless leather gloves? Love.  Look how 1990's corporate and old she makes Sonja look!!

Leopard of course....Carole probably has leopard water come out of her shower...sighhhhhhhhh

Supermodel? 20yr old? Ugh Carole where do I get those booties???

Letterman's jacket is such a lovely addition and I just saw a really cute one at http://www.forever21.com/Search/Search.aspx?br=f21&keyword=varsity

Opening Day Fashion Del Mar 2012

My first Opening Day at Del Mar was not centered around strategizing on who the winning horse would be, nor placing exciting bets and watching each heated race. Not so shockingly, my day revolved around a couple of faves of mine: fashion, socializing, and screwdrivers. The outfits and hats were extremely impressive, but I must say, the gentlemen BROUGHT IT. I was thrilled to see the guys come out in bright pastel ginghams, khaki and seersucker suits, and even bow ties! The guys looked great and for the most part the ladies did too. There were a few Stingaree-worthy barely-buns covering "dresses" sprinkled in, but San Diego was tan, classy, and CHIC! Check out my girls and I as well as the gorgeous peeps that attended, including the beautiful Gina was the Frankie and Gina morning show on 93.3!

SHOE SHOPPING AT URBAN OUTFITTERS

all found at urbanoutfitters.com

I love funky shoes.  You can wear the most boring, thoughtless outfit, but put on some sick kicks, and you're good to go.  Also, shoes always fit when you're bloated.  And no matter what, new shoes make you happy.  Urban has the coolest colors prints and styles that maybe JUST maybe, not everyone is rockin'.  These are my delicious picks:

CHICKS+SNEAKERS

Ok I've never had the guts but have been ab dying to rock the chick sneak look, and now it's finally mainstreamish.  They're coming in cute girl colors, and even with a built in wedge for us shorties so our legs don't look like stout little carrot sticks.

Wear With:
High-low skirts
Mini skirts
Plain dresses
Skinny jeans

These wedge sneakers by Ash are the ones that inspired the new trend (Karolina Kurkova, Kate Bosworth, and Heidi Klum have these)

They make your legs look soooooooooo long and you'll get what up's wherever you roam.

Rihanna has these. Done.

Tame the sneaks down with solid off the shoulder tee shirts, nuscle tanks, denim shirts, baggy sweaters.

Classic. Cheap. Goes with everything. Just do it.

WHOHOHPOIHOIOPHHOIOIOSIJOOOOO

I got the shiver-me-Tebows when I saw these.  The color is GORRRRRRRGEOUS.  This is SUCH an undercover versatile color, goes great with white khaki black coral turquoise LAVENDER grey burgandy dark purple

low enough so that it doesn't cut off your legs too much so you can still wear with skirts and dresses and shorts but perfect with any color skinny jean.  GAHHHHHHHH MUST GET THESE

I've tried these on in the store three times and can't get them off my mind.  They are also undercover versatile.  A black dress with an army green blazer and hoops?  Gauzy cinnamon colored blouse, ripped up skinnys and a long gold chain? Mmmmmhmmmm.  How about a navy blazer, white tank, neon yellow pleated mini??  CANT HANDLE ANY MORE.

You can find me....not in St Louis rollin on dubs (Nelly) but wearing these with my high-waisted denim ruff-ups, a gauzy blouse, and as MANY BRACELETS as I can cram on my wrist.  Or any one of my beautiful breezy maxis, or with some white shorts and a bright printed blouse, or with a tight printed mini and a tank.  And girl, I'm gonna look T-A-L-L.

AND FINALLY THE MUSTISH HAVE OF THE MUST HAVES:

Isabel Marant made the first pair.  Steve Madden made them possible for us.  Now they're everywhere.  Please make sure you get real leather, (suede) I'm all about cheap shoes but only if you can't tell-felt does NOT pass for suede and is mucho uncomfortable.

These go with everything and anything you can possibly think of.  Anything.
Time for my shopping picks of the day!  I am on Forever21.com all day long; I've actually come to know when the new items are posted.  Over 100 new items are posted daily, and it's very quickly become my therapy to take little mental breaks scrolling through maxi skirts, printed dresses, and all the gaudy jewelry you could ask for.  I actually love to check through the website before I vist the store to get an idea of the items I'm looking for :)

All of these items can be found on forever21.com:

These leopard leggings are going to be my staple into Fall.  To keep them a bit tamed, I'll pair them with gold or tan T-strap sandels and either a white tank or blouse, or my faded denim shirt tied in a knot at the waist.

PLEASE avoid pairing colors like red, pink, and purple with leopard.  Stop it, it's gross.  Even black is so typical and easy.  To keep it modern, mix with tans and khakis and whites, peach, mint, and my favorite, mustard yellow!

Mmmmm...Carmela Soprano/Peggy Bundy....this is my style inspiration!!!

This adorable studded blazer is another great staple that I'll take into Fall with me.  For now, I'm going to wear cute little fitted and printed shorts, or even a mini skirt.  I will put whites underneath, not black.  It's perfect to throw on over a printed tank with jeans on a chilly Summer night as well.  Of course it's great over a little Summer dress as well.  If you wear it JUST over a black tank you are lame :)

UGH!!!  This dress is my Summer wedding dress dream come true!!  It is the perfect peachy color to make you look super tan, and I won't have to do the awkward Spanx shop and try-on disaster.  I'll wear it with some turquoise drop earrings, and little gold, white, and turqouise bracelets.  For shoes, I'll go with a wedge in a tan or a platform 70's style heel with gold accents.

To dress it down, I can envision wearing it to an outdoor reggae concert.  I'll just wear it with little tan suede booties, or even some broken in tan cowboy boots.  If I feel like getting real Coachella, I may just break out my white daisy headband!

All of these items can be found on Lulus.com:

This dress is also perfect for Summer weddings, brunches, showers, the Racetrack, etc.  I'd style it the same way as the dress above, with gold jewelry for sure.  However I think I'd wear a kinda funky belt, maybe braided leather in rainbow colors, or black and white, something fun.  If you do a belt, only do earrings.  Never a belt AND a necklace!!

Obsessed!!! They may be a lil statement making but these can actually be so incredibly versatile.  So cute with the pink dress above.  So cute with skinny jeans and a navy and white striped cardigan.  This tan color goes with everything including black.  A tight printed mini skirt with a loose off the shoulder sweater? DONE AND DONE SON!!!

This skirt would be fun with the boots above.  It's such a cool and unique print, everyone already has these skirts in the FREAKIN AZTEC prints, or leopard, or any other generic print.  This one is def unique.  To wear it casual, I'll wear it with a high-low tank or blouse, and some cowboy-inspired booties or even some combat-ish boots.

To dress it up, I'd do a simple tank and wedges for sure.  DO NOT wear stilettos with a tight mini.  Yes, it will DEF look like you're trying to hard!!  Always wedges or booties.

I love this maxi for many reasons...the print and the beading on the bodice is really cool, and again, it's not the over-done aztec tribal prints.  But I mainly love it because it actually has a WAIST!!  99% of maxis are empire waisted so the fabric hangs straight down and can completely drown your figure.  And if you have even a slight curve of a belly to pokes out ever-so-slightly, you look third trimester.  This one has a really flattering shape.

Glam: HUUUUUUGE hoop earrings, tons of bangles, and wedges

Casual: T-stap sandels, shrunken denim jacket

These items can be found on nastygal.com:

Duh I love the high-waisted denim trends this year, it F-A-B.  However I will tell you that boys do not quite understand it.  The trick is, find a pair that doesn't give you a penis-pouch in the front.  They can def look too diaper-esque.  Beware especially if you make your own.

Go to Goodwill, indulge in the glee of trying on Mom jean after Mom jean with your girlfriends, pick a pair that fit you well.  When you cut off the leg, cut it slightly higher on the side: mucho sexy.  Use scissors to cut lots of slits, and also use an exacto-knife to scrape scrape scrape.  Grab a bleach pen and bleach away, or try dipping into some dye in a bucket.  You can buy a bedazzler or a bestudder and have fun!!

Obsessed with this blouse, it's that gorge color again that makes you look so tan, and turquoise with it is so incredibly yummy.  So pretty tucked in just the front of high waist denim shorts or even jeans, or over a tight mini, or even knotted at the waist over a solid maxi.  Super Summer perfect pick!!

A twiddle about Me :)

Hi Everyone!  This is about to become your new favorite blog.  I'll be posting often if not daily, showing off my cute outfits and where exactly to get them, spotlighting items of the day and how to style it, showcasing my amazing closet organization skills (fitting a LOT into a LITTLE space), and I'll also be covering fashion at the events I go to!  This is a blog for the everyday girl who obesses over everything in the magazines but can't afford couple-hundred dollar jeans and thousand dollar sell-your-first=born-worthy bags.  I'll tell you where to get what you want at the best price and how to fit it into your outfit/closet!  Here's a little blurb on my how my longtime monogamous and sometimes romantic relationship with fashion began:

Obsessed with fashion to the point of selling furniture and musical instruments to aquire the item my heart desired. I began readin Vogue at age 9, right at the height of the Supermodel, obessing over Chrity Turlington, Claudia Shiffer, and Cindy Crawford.  A candy-colored tweed Chanel suit was my must have by age 11.  Yves Saint Laurant's amythest color peasent blouse inspired each trip to the mall.  I read every catalogue cover to cover,  and I'd trace the models and outfits. Began drawing and designing my own items around age 5. (Still have the drawings-hilarious, yet chic!!) Began wearing vintage before age 10, including my mom's bridesmaid dresses and nightgowns from the 70s. Then came the grunge phase when I raided my dad's bell bottom cords, terrycloth and velor polos, and bowling shoes. Highschool brough upon a fierce hippie phase, where I reverted back to my mom's flourescent floral polyester gowns. College inspired a '50's asthetic, and I carried structured straw bags with bakelite handels, and wore peplum skirts and cashmere beaded cardigans on the daily.  I had a very Banana/Tory/DVF phase when I got my first professional job, and the best tailored Theory slacks were my prized posession.  Now that I live at the beach, tie-dye silks dresses are like a drug, and gauzy breezy hippie chic moomoos with vintage leather hurrachas have become my staple. I didn't even cover jewelry.

I also love vintage furniture and have salvaged and refinished just about everything in my posession. From re-upholstering ottomons to buying '80's coated dressers that I sand down, paint, and shappy chic the heck out of, I've done it all.
